Team Roster 2011

Team Captain: Chesney Overton – 18 year old senior at Fletcher High School; she plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.
Team Co-Captain:  Tyler Lang- 18 year old senior at Cache High School; Tyler is going to attend Oklahoma State and pursue a degree in Mechanical and Aerospace engineering.  Tyler helped on the electrical portion of the robot and the team Facebook.
Team Co-Captain:  Bryan Morgan -  17 year old junior at MacArthur High School; Bryan would like to attend the University of Florida and earn a degree in Civil Engineering.  Bryan worked on the main robot and design, he also worked on the minibot’s design and build.  This is his first year on the team.
Anna Halverson- 18 year old senior at Lawton High School; she is hoping to attend either the United States Naval Academy or the University of Notre Dame to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  She is currently working with the mechanical team as well as serving as one of the leaders of the publicity team. Her current project is completing the Chairman’s award for competition.
Connor Cabrey - 17 year old senior at Lawton High school; he is going to attend the United States Military Academy starting June 27, 2011 and plans to major in Mechanical Engineering. He is working on the mechanical team as well as assisting the design team.  He was one of the designers of the suspension system that is being used on this year’s robot.
Colt Holley – 18 year old senior at Geronimo High School.  Colt is going to attend Oklahoma State University and pursue a degree in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.  Colt is working on the mechanical team and in the preseason he worked on the electrical and programming team.  He designed the four wheel independent suspension system that is being used on this year’s robot.
Chris Crane - 18 year old senior at Big Pasture High School. Chris has been accepted to Oklahoma State University and plans to major in Electrical Engineering.
Caleb Jette – Senior at Lawton High School. Caleb has been accepted to Oklahoma State University and plans to pursue a career in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
Justin Duncan – 17 year old junior at Eisenhower High School.  Justin plans to attend Oklahoma State University and pursue a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Becca Cabrey – 16 year old Junior at Lawton High School; undecided on where she would like to go to school, but wishes to attend the United States Military Academy or Columbia University pursuing a degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
   Andrew Popp -  Junior at Eisenhower High School; he plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
Seth Herrera-  Junior at Eisenhower High School; he plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. He worked on the frame and fork lift and helped with the electrical and Facebook.
 Jon Bolin – Eighth Grader at MacArthur Middle School; this season, he worked on the robot’s software.
   Mark Hill – Junior at Cache High School; plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  Larry Newsom – Head Coach – Great Plains Technology Maintenance Instructor - employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for 28 years; 19 years in the field of Industrial Maintenance.  This is my 2nd year to participate with Team 2435 and I’m hooked.
Karen Bailey – Pre-Engineering Program Supervisor; Director of Academic Affairs, Great Plains Technology Center; lead fund-raiser, promoter, and scheduler; she wants Team 2435 to reach the regional competition and be the best; she also loves being around these great young adults.
Dr. Joel Guthridge - Lead Team Management Mentor – Research scientist for OK Medical Research Foundation; he wants to work with kids and show them the enjoyment of projects using math and science.
 Andy Easson -Software/Electrical Mentor - Software Engineer at CGI, Lawton, OK.  He enjoys working with the students in this team project.

James White  – Electronics Team Mentor -  Industrial electronics at Fort Sill for 25 years.  When I retire I want to go into teaching.  I enjoy working with the kids.
  Alisha White – Team Building/Donations.- Educator for over 20 years, currently teaching 1st Grade at Flower Mound Elementary, Lawton.  I enjoy team building and giving incentives.  I enjoy working with local businesses to secure donations for Team 2435.  I love watching the students achieve their goals.
   Todd Lang – Business Mentor -President, CloseAir, LLC and Pilot for Delta Air Lines.  Retired Air Force F-16 Pilot.  MBA Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.  BS, Aviation Management, Oklahoma State University. 
  Joanne Lang – Administrative Mentor – Independent business owner for over 12 years.  I am a mom of two busy teenagers.  Team 2435 activities are team building, team spirit, and team awards.  I enjoy the excitement and enthusiasm these kids have every day they are here.  They are incredible to work with.
Mark Popp – Software Team Mentor - Software Engineer/Manager for 24 years.  This is my first year with the team and I am very excited about FRC.
Kris Elefante – Team Mentor – One of last year’s team members.  Plans to attend Oklahoma State University in the fall to double major in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.
Rheu Nell Horton – Program Recruitment and Assistant Coordinator – retired professional educator and now Assistant Recruitment Coordinator at Great Plains Technology Center; organizer and implementor of travel, meals, wardrobe, copies, materials, and general do-it-all manager.
Charlie Horton -retired Colonel in the military; assistant to Mrs. Rheu Nell Horton; he runs numerous errands and assists wherever he can help.
 Charles Adair – Boeing Representative- joined The Boeing Company in July 2002 as the Lead Systems Integrator (LSI) Site Representative to Fort Sill, OK for the Army’s Future Combat Systems (FCS) Program.  He performed a liaison role between the LSI and the commanding general and organizations tasked with FCS development, TRADOC systems management, Battle Lab experimentation and Analytical Studies resident at Fort Sill.  He also is a subject-matter-expert on fire support systems and assisted the Army and LSI determine organizational, operational, and training requirements, conduct modeling and simulations, and systems engineering of Battle Command and FCS Platforms.  With the modification of the FCS contract, he was appointed Director, Boeing Defense Systems Field Marketing to the Fires Center of Excellence, Ft. Sill and still assists with System Engineering Operational Analysis projects.         Prior to joining Boeing, for four years he used his prior military experience as a consultant in doctrine writing, multi-media training development, and advanced studies modeling system and force capability.  During his twenty-four years as a Marine Corps officer, he commanded six separate organizations to include a battalion during Desert Storm (1991), served on several staffs, and has operational experience at the joint and multinational level conducting warfighting and training exercises.  He’s a graduate of a top level school (Air War College), Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and eighteen other military schools and courses.   He holds a BS degree in Botany, a MA in Human Resources Development, and MA equivalent in Strategic Studies.   For his service and performance he earned sixteen awards and has a current top secret security clearance.
